The Pink Ribbon| Breast Cancer Awareness Week

Hello again :)
So today was a major fail on the design front... it kind of worked, but not really.
In short, I salute all of you who do ribbon designs! They aren't easy to do at all!
Anyway, on with the show!

How You Can Raise Awareness
Give money to cancer research charities, such as Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Campaign, Breakthrough and Marie Curie.

Tuesday's Design- The Pink Ribbon
I feel like this is the 'typical' design that people use for supporting a breast cancer cure, featuring the pale pink ribbon.
Let's just say that a dotting tool was soooo not the tool that should be used to draw the ribbon. Won't be making that mistake again!
So everybody, my biggest apologies for the mess that is supposed to be a ribbon on my ring finger there. Shan't happen again!

(I'm only showing one hand because the other one is extremely bad- even the dots look bad...)
I'm going to assume that the messiness of the design is because I did it at around midnight. Woopsies!

Polishes Used:
  • Leighton Denny- "Spoil Me" (base colour)
  • Rimmel London Long Lasting Colour- "Baby Pink" (ribbon/spots)
Have some more pictures, anyway!

I guess the ribbon is the most common design for this sort of thing because it's a recognised symbol to show that you care...
Anyway! Check out the first post if you missed it! (Clickety Click)
And keep your eye out for tomorrow's!

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …

I'm writing this whilst listening to the General Election results. I'm not going to get into politics here though, this is a safe politics-free zone!

I've been semi-missing the past few weeks, I know. Many apologies. However if you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen a couple of posts! And just in case you don't, here they are for you:

First of all actually, I had a little haul from BornPrettyStore, and bought the following stoofs:

And then did ma nails. (That's what I do here, generally after all).

Swatch Watch: Barry M Gelly 'Papaya'

Greetings folks,

Today's featured polish is one of my top picks for Summer pretty much every year. It's a Barry M Gelly polish, which I summarised all of the colours for (at the time) a few years back. You can check that post out here if you want to see the awesome variation of colours!

Papaya, however, is I think the first of the Gelly polishes I picked out. It's a pinky-orange/peach colour (wow, great describing skills, I know), that seems perfect for cocktails and beach-style weather. That weather is also known as Summer in most countries (and occasionally the UK). Of course, it has the beautiful gel-like shiny finish with it, which can be enhanced with a shiny topcoat, or even a gel-style topcoat if you want to go all out!

Most images in this post were taken with flash to try and capture the true colour of the polish. In some lights it looks more orange than peach, but I feel that all the images here show the true colour it appears in a few different light settings.
