Fridail: Models Own Beetlejuice Purple-Blue!

Hey guys!
It's finally Friday! You know what that means? It's the weekend, and more importantly...
It's a nail post! Wahoo!

This weeks Fridail post is featuring Models Own's Beetlejuice in the shade Purple-Blue!
Hope you enjoy the post, and don't forget to leave a comment below (and make sure you're following me on all the social media links to your right!)
Slightly-Silvery Appearance at times...

So! Purple-Blue, huh? What an inventive name...
But- Where's the blue!? It's very hard to find.
The polish itself is a very nice colour, though in the bottle it seems very much like the Pinky-Brown, and appears to have a brown base-colour just like it.

It still contains the little shimmery-sparkles that are tucked nicely away into the polish yet reflect enough light to add that extra Wow-Factor!

I see light reflecting here... Yet only one colour!
Onto the slightly disappointing part then? The reflecting two-tones just... aren't there. Pinky-Brown was easy to get pictures of, you literally just tilt your nails one way or another and the nails catch the light and make it all sparkly and two-toned, but this polish? This polish was different. There had to be a significant change of light to be able to locate the two-toned part, and even then it was pretty hard to do so.

Slight two-toned-ness?

Flash-On: Finally!?
You can see in this final picture, with the flash, that it really is a two-toned metallic polish. But really, Models Own? I'm disappointed.

Overall Summary
This polish is very pretty, but the intended effect just doesn't work as nicely as it should, in my opinion. So, buy this polish if you really like the base-purple colour and would like the odd flicker of blue in your life :)
You can buy it for £5 from Boots, Superdrug, or the Models Own's Website.

Thanks for reading!
See you on Monday for an exciting new "I am..." post on books! (Yay, books!)

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …

I'm writing this whilst listening to the General Election results. I'm not going to get into politics here though, this is a safe politics-free zone!

I've been semi-missing the past few weeks, I know. Many apologies. However if you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen a couple of posts! And just in case you don't, here they are for you:

First of all actually, I had a little haul from BornPrettyStore, and bought the following stoofs:

And then did ma nails. (That's what I do here, generally after all).

Swatch Watch: Barry M Gelly 'Papaya'

Greetings folks,

Today's featured polish is one of my top picks for Summer pretty much every year. It's a Barry M Gelly polish, which I summarised all of the colours for (at the time) a few years back. You can check that post out here if you want to see the awesome variation of colours!

Papaya, however, is I think the first of the Gelly polishes I picked out. It's a pinky-orange/peach colour (wow, great describing skills, I know), that seems perfect for cocktails and beach-style weather. That weather is also known as Summer in most countries (and occasionally the UK). Of course, it has the beautiful gel-like shiny finish with it, which can be enhanced with a shiny topcoat, or even a gel-style topcoat if you want to go all out!

Most images in this post were taken with flash to try and capture the true colour of the polish. In some lights it looks more orange than peach, but I feel that all the images here show the true colour it appears in a few different light settings.
