A Blogger's Bookshelf: Allegiant Part 1!

Hey guys!
Welcome to the first part of the Allegiant review!
The only reason this has been split into parts is because I've done a fair bit of work this week and haven't been reading so much, I think I'm on Chapter 19 or something (out of like, 50 I think...)

So this book starts exactly where Insurgent left off, but this time it's from both Tobias' and Tris' perspectives, which is pretty cool actually. It works well, especially a few chapters into the book.
It's actually very nice to have Tobias' perspective of everything and Veronica has used this to her full advantage in Chapter 2, describing his love for Tris and everything that makes him smile about her, as well as giving an insight to how he sees situations. (Seriously guys, cuteness alert- go grab those tissues!)
From the first few chapters, it was pretty easy to see where everything was going- the "Allegiant" are a group formed of characters you'll recognise from the past two books and get a good, gripping introduction here.
There's also a new location which had a nice smooth transition from the old one, yet had it's own shocking little twists involved in it too, which is pretty typical for these books! (In a good way!)
Basically, most of the important characters are in this new environment, and the story is plodding nicely along in its development right now and I have absolutely no idea what it's going to lead to, so I won't try and guess here.

Tune in next week for the second (and hopefully final) part of the review, but so far, so good, I'm enjoying it loads!

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …

I'm writing this whilst listening to the General Election results. I'm not going to get into politics here though, this is a safe politics-free zone!

I've been semi-missing the past few weeks, I know. Many apologies. However if you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen a couple of posts! And just in case you don't, here they are for you:

First of all actually, I had a little haul from BornPrettyStore, and bought the following stoofs:

And then did ma nails. (That's what I do here, generally after all).

Swatch Watch: Barry M Gelly 'Papaya'

Greetings folks,

Today's featured polish is one of my top picks for Summer pretty much every year. It's a Barry M Gelly polish, which I summarised all of the colours for (at the time) a few years back. You can check that post out here if you want to see the awesome variation of colours!

Papaya, however, is I think the first of the Gelly polishes I picked out. It's a pinky-orange/peach colour (wow, great describing skills, I know), that seems perfect for cocktails and beach-style weather. That weather is also known as Summer in most countries (and occasionally the UK). Of course, it has the beautiful gel-like shiny finish with it, which can be enhanced with a shiny topcoat, or even a gel-style topcoat if you want to go all out!

Most images in this post were taken with flash to try and capture the true colour of the polish. In some lights it looks more orange than peach, but I feel that all the images here show the true colour it appears in a few different light settings.
