LiL Challenge: Food!

Hey everyone!
Yes, yes, it's Thursday- it's usually one of my days off, but shh, I brought a surprise for you all!
This month (July, already!?) I'm doing a Nail Art Challenge set up by Life in Lacquer!

If you want to join in too, there's still time, and you don't have to join in every single challenge day if you don't want to, but it would be awesome if you do.

Here's my mani for the first topic- food!

I remembered vaguely that I had a cute little fruity stamping plate somewhere in my stamping kit- and I was right! Look how cute these things are!

The polish I used was called "Mayfair" by Nails Inc. It's a cute little slightly-metallic white/cream shade, though I wouldn't wear it by itself. It's surprisingly opaque, and took only two coats to cover my nails evenly, which is awesome!

Here's the plate I used- Konad m55. Isn't it cute?

My friend Sarah is also taking part in this challenge! She took the food spectrum to the opposite side that I did, and went for some unhealthy, yet super cute cupcakes!

Aren't they cute!?
So, that's today's surprise and challenge reveal- check back on Monday, after 6pm UK time for the 2nd challenge prompt- pink!

I hope you enjoyed today's post, and will check back tomorrow where I'll be showing you my prom nails!
Thanks for reading,

Okay, so that picture isn't too great. But there's the colours that between us (Me and Rhian) have in the Gelly range. We're only missing "Grapefruit" I think...

Swatch Watch: OPI 'Sprung'

Wooo time got away from me for a couple of weeks. Has it really been so long already? My apologies to any of you who have been eagerly waiting for new swatches (I know I have)! To make it up to you I've got a swatch for you today which, in my opinion, is pretty "in season" right now. I'm talking about the Rose Gold trend that's been going on for a year or two now - who would of known it would become so popular?

Today's nail polish is: OPI 'Sprung'. It sounds like it should be a spring green kinda colour... but nope! This polish is a beautiful rose-gold kind of colour with a perfect amount of shimmer to be classy and sophisticated. Don't believe me? Here it is!

Fact File:
Brand: OPI
Polish Name: Sprung
# of coats: 3 + (applies quite thin)
Finishing Texture: Smooth, shimmer
Cost: £3.10 at the time of writing, on

So I paired this polish with this gel-finish dotty topcoat... thing. That sadly, has no name, and was bought by my roommate…

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …
