Mail: Say Hi to Emily!

Hey everyone! :)
Today I'm bringing you a beautiful post by Emily, from Nail Must Be Painted! Here is is...
---------------------------

Hello! I'm Emily from Nails Must Be Painted.

I am very excited to be doing my first ever guest post today for Rachel! Hope she is having a lovely holiday!

Usually my nail art consists of lots of girly colours and flowered designs! However, I wanted to do something I thought would be a little more in the style of Rachel's blog, so I have tried something new for me: a distressed, neon mani!

I started with a base of Barry M Matte White. I then sponged a gradient using Sinful Colors Cool Pink and W7 Fluorescent Yellow. Next I covered the whole nail with a coat of Barry M Black, before removing some again with a fan brush, a cotton bud and acetone. I repeated this last step using Sally Hansen Grape Race and finished with a quick coat of Barry M Diamond Glitter on my Ring finger and Barry M 3 in 1 topcoat on the rest of my nails.

Although this is not my usual style, I love this mani and it was surprisingly quick and easy to do! Hope you all like it as much as I do!!

Ooo, I do love a good distressed mani! Thank you for the lovely post, Emily! Make sure you guys go and check out her blog, which is linked at the top of this post!
I hope everyone's had a great weekend, and make sure to check back here on Wednesday for a guest post from Tipped Off Nails!

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …

Life Update ft. New Glasses!*

*This post contains a product that was sent to me in exchange for an honest review. This product is the pair of glasses you see in this post, and any posts which include my face in any future posts. Thanks!

Howdy!

I'm writing this whilst listening to the General Election results. I'm not going to get into politics here though, this is a safe politics-free zone!

I've been semi-missing the past few weeks, I know. Many apologies. However if you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen a couple of posts! And just in case you don't, here they are for you:

First of all actually, I had a little haul from BornPrettyStore, and bought the following stoofs:

And then did ma nails. (That's what I do here, generally after all).

Swatch Watch: Barry M Gelly 'Papaya'

Greetings folks,

Today's featured polish is one of my top picks for Summer pretty much every year. It's a Barry M Gelly polish, which I summarised all of the colours for (at the time) a few years back. You can check that post out here if you want to see the awesome variation of colours!

Papaya, however, is I think the first of the Gelly polishes I picked out. It's a pinky-orange/peach colour (wow, great describing skills, I know), that seems perfect for cocktails and beach-style weather. That weather is also known as Summer in most countries (and occasionally the UK). Of course, it has the beautiful gel-like shiny finish with it, which can be enhanced with a shiny topcoat, or even a gel-style topcoat if you want to go all out!

Most images in this post were taken with flash to try and capture the true colour of the polish. In some lights it looks more orange than peach, but I feel that all the images here show the true colour it appears in a few different light settings.
