Mail: Barry M Gelly "Chai"

Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a good weekend, and are taking Monday in your stride!

Today I have a swatch of a polish that I was unsure of when I bought it. I thought it would be a really dull colour to have on nails, and I prefer much brighter colours. However, I really like this colour! And the colour I'm talking about, is of course, a Barry M Gelly polish! This shade is part of their Autumn 2014 release, and is called "Chai".

All these pics are taken without a topcoat, just so you can see how beautifully shiny this polish is! It's just a typical Gelly polish really, isn't it?

Application was super duper easy, though I wish Barry M would 'upgrade' their brushes to the wider ones, and I was very tempted to leave it as one-coat, but I went up to two, to give it that extra depth of colour.

As you can see, Chai is quite a cool grey, which could almost gain the title of 'blue-grey' really. I wouldn't have said it was much of an Autumn colour, but instead more of a Winter colour. So I'm sure this will be a well-used polish of mine over the Winter months.

I started messing around with sponging techniques a little, too. I used Barry M's Glitterati "Rockstar" to sponge a bit of sparkle onto a tip of one nail. On another I used a silver Nicole by OPI "Positive Energy" and sponged it randomly over the nail. And finally, I used Barry M's Silk "Forest" to attempt a pretty gradient on the tip of another nail... It didn't go quite as well as planned, but never mind!

Let me know what you think of these- and the Barry M polish- in the comments below!

I have another Glossybox due this week too, so keep your eyes peeled for that coming up soon! And check back on Wednesday for another swatch! :) See you then!

Swatch Watch: OPI 'Sprung'

Wooo time got away from me for a couple of weeks. Has it really been so long already? My apologies to any of you who have been eagerly waiting for new swatches (I know I have)! To make it up to you I've got a swatch for you today which, in my opinion, is pretty "in season" right now. I'm talking about the Rose Gold trend that's been going on for a year or two now - who would of known it would become so popular?

Today's nail polish is: OPI 'Sprung'. It sounds like it should be a spring green kinda colour... but nope! This polish is a beautiful rose-gold kind of colour with a perfect amount of shimmer to be classy and sophisticated. Don't believe me? Here it is!

Fact File:
Brand: OPI
Polish Name: Sprung
# of coats: 3 + (applies quite thin)
Finishing Texture: Smooth, shimmer
Cost: £3.10 at the time of writing, on

So I paired this polish with this gel-finish dotty topcoat... thing. That sadly, has no name, and was bought by my roommate…

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …
