Mail: Models Own "Asscher Blue"

Hey guys!
Sorry the post's a bit late- life is just so distracting!

Anyway, today I have one of the polishes I bought last weekend to show you! And a cool new technique I just learnt thanks to Nailsxo! :)

Today's polish is... Models Own's Diamond Luxe "Asscher Blue"

So, this polish is a very pretty, kinda bright but not in-your-face sky blue that has a gentle shimmer running through it as they contain "real diamond dust" (not bad for a fiver!).

Application is smooth and simple, especially with Models Own's typical wide-ish brush that means you only need two/three strokes per nail. It really is a stunning blue polish, and would be a pretty awesome addition to your collection, especially in time for Winter and Spring!
You can pick one up in Superdrug or for £4.99!

And this brings us nicely to a new technique! I saw this on a facebook post by "Emily Nailsxo", but she's got a tutorial post on how to do this- and here's the link

It's a pretty cool effect, and not too hard to do either- plus you only need a polish and a stick really. And something like clingfilm to put polish onto. But it looks awesome and feels really fun, and is totally, totally worth it.

The polish I used to "spin" is Barry M's new Silk "Forest" which is a gorgeous colour that I'll be swatching probably for Wednesday!

And that's it folks, I'll be back tomorrow since I've been nominated for a Liebster award again (yay!) so I'll be answering those questions!

  1. Oh wow, I LOVE this blue! I love your sugar spin over top too! :) It suits your skin colour perfectly! - Danielle x

    1. Thank you! :D It's a lovely colour, kinda reminds me of their Gel "Blue Glint" actually! I'm such a sucker for blues haha x

  2. Hello!
I have nominated you for a Liebster award!
Check out my blog for the rules and your questions. :)

    1. Ooo thank you! :D I'll have to do a double Q&A haha :P

  3. Aww thanks for the mention I'm so happy you found the tutorial helpful! Could I include these on my 'Your Nails' page on my website? It's a place for people who have been inspired by my designs, tutorials etc. ?

I love how amazing the sugar spun nail art looks and it's only your first time doing it! I also love the colour blue and that nail polish is soooo nice! xx

    1. Of course you can yes! :) I love it so much, so thank you for the tutorial! :) xx

  4. Thanks I will upload it tomorrow after work :) xx

Your Guide to Barry M Gelly's!

Finally, the time has come for the ever-promised "Barry M Gelly Polishes Review & Swatch" Post! YAY! Now, now, settle down, settle down, and prepare yourself for an image-heavy post!

Okay, so that picture isn't too great. But there's the colours that between us (Me and Rhian) have in the Gelly range. We're only missing "Grapefruit" I think...

Swatch Watch: OPI 'Sprung'

Wooo time got away from me for a couple of weeks. Has it really been so long already? My apologies to any of you who have been eagerly waiting for new swatches (I know I have)! To make it up to you I've got a swatch for you today which, in my opinion, is pretty "in season" right now. I'm talking about the Rose Gold trend that's been going on for a year or two now - who would of known it would become so popular?

Today's nail polish is: OPI 'Sprung'. It sounds like it should be a spring green kinda colour... but nope! This polish is a beautiful rose-gold kind of colour with a perfect amount of shimmer to be classy and sophisticated. Don't believe me? Here it is!

Fact File:
Brand: OPI
Polish Name: Sprung
# of coats: 3 + (applies quite thin)
Finishing Texture: Smooth, shimmer
Cost: £3.10 at the time of writing, on

So I paired this polish with this gel-finish dotty topcoat... thing. That sadly, has no name, and was bought by my roommate…

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …
