Happy World Book Day!

Hey everyone!

It's World Book Day today!

As a self-proclaimed book nerd, it feels right to do a post on this day of celebrating books, even if I did only find out about this morning because of twitter.

I remember in primary school it was always my favourite school day of the year as we got to sit around and read for most of the day, with little writing exercises and games in between. And, of course, we got to dress up as our 'favourite book character'. Basically, we got to see each other in princess and pirate and alien costumes, which yknow, is pretty funny!

Ah I miss those days! Anyway, reading basically took over my life, and as sad as it may sound, books are my friends (though I do of course have real friends too- hi guys!) and they're even my comfort blanked. Bad day? I go and read a book.

So as you can see, at the moment I'm reading through JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (I'm determined to finish these at some point and then have a marathon of the movies to compare/celebrate). I'm also starting A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin so I can hopefully overtake the TV show at some point in the probably very distant future.
Though, this weekend I plan to read Patricia Briggs' new book "Dead Heat" which came out on Tuesday... as well as write two essays. Yippee!
See you all tomorrow for a nail post though! Happy World Book Day!

Are you reading anything good at the moment? Let me know in the comments!

Finally, the time has come for the ever-promised "Barry M Gelly Polishes Review & Swatch" Post! YAY! Now, now, settle down, settle down, and prepare yourself for an image-heavy post!

Okay, so that picture isn't too great. But there's the colours that between us (Me and Rhian) have in the Gelly range. We're only missing "Grapefruit" I think...

Swatch Watch: OPI 'Sprung'

Wooo time got away from me for a couple of weeks. Has it really been so long already? My apologies to any of you who have been eagerly waiting for new swatches (I know I have)! To make it up to you I've got a swatch for you today which, in my opinion, is pretty "in season" right now. I'm talking about the Rose Gold trend that's been going on for a year or two now - who would of known it would become so popular?

Today's nail polish is: OPI 'Sprung'. It sounds like it should be a spring green kinda colour... but nope! This polish is a beautiful rose-gold kind of colour with a perfect amount of shimmer to be classy and sophisticated. Don't believe me? Here it is!

Fact File:
Brand: OPI
Polish Name: Sprung
# of coats: 3 + (applies quite thin)
Finishing Texture: Smooth, shimmer
Cost: £3.10 at the time of writing, on

So I paired this polish with this gel-finish dotty topcoat... thing. That sadly, has no name, and was bought by my roommate…

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …
