GoT: House Stark

Hey everyone!

The Fandoms are continuing to 'Strike Back' today, and House Stark is leading the battle in Game of Thrones!

I think the Starks are my favourite house in the GoT universe, so it seemed like a good place to start for the second half of the Game of Thrones manis- the Houses!

To 'celebrate' the Starks, I started off with a base of white (Morgan Taylor's 'All White Now') and sponged on a green-grey colour (Nicole by OPI's 'Goodbye Shoes') in a circle-ish motion to leave some white visible.

On my thumb and pinkie I started with the grey and sponged the white on the tips.

I then used the pen-like end of my black striper (Andrea Fulerton's Dot & Flick Nail Art) to draw on the paw prints (of a dire wolf) on my index and ring fingers, and an "S" for Stark on my middle finger!

I'm really chuffed with how the paw prints turned out, though the S did smudge a little. However I do kinda like it like this, it adds to the Game of Thrones' style!

I'm also loving the colour of this grey polish, it has a very unique amount green/blue in it and will be a great colour for the Winter months.

So I hope you like this Stark mani, and will support House Stark with me throughout this season of GoT! If you're supporting a different house though tell me which in the comments below! ;)

See you on Friday, where I will hopefully show you my ball nails! That's right... I'm going to a ball on Friday! I'm so excited :D See you then!

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …

I'm writing this whilst listening to the General Election results. I'm not going to get into politics here though, this is a safe politics-free zone!

I've been semi-missing the past few weeks, I know. Many apologies. However if you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen a couple of posts! And just in case you don't, here they are for you:

First of all actually, I had a little haul from BornPrettyStore, and bought the following stoofs:

And then did ma nails. (That's what I do here, generally after all).

Swatch Watch: Barry M Gelly 'Papaya'

Greetings folks,

Today's featured polish is one of my top picks for Summer pretty much every year. It's a Barry M Gelly polish, which I summarised all of the colours for (at the time) a few years back. You can check that post out here if you want to see the awesome variation of colours!

Papaya, however, is I think the first of the Gelly polishes I picked out. It's a pinky-orange/peach colour (wow, great describing skills, I know), that seems perfect for cocktails and beach-style weather. That weather is also known as Summer in most countries (and occasionally the UK). Of course, it has the beautiful gel-like shiny finish with it, which can be enhanced with a shiny topcoat, or even a gel-style topcoat if you want to go all out!

Most images in this post were taken with flash to try and capture the true colour of the polish. In some lights it looks more orange than peach, but I feel that all the images here show the true colour it appears in a few different light settings.
