OPI "Can't Let Go" Swatch

Hey everyone!

Hope you're all having a wonderful Bank Holiday Monday and enjoy the time off if you get it!

Today I'm taking it back to basics and showing you a quick swatch of a polish I bought some time in the past few months (I've kinda lost track...oops!). Also just a quick reminder that you can click any of the pics to view a larger version of the image if you wanna see those close-up glitter granules!

So these two pics above are the only two that came out okay using only-daylight. You have Manchester's beautiful weather to thank for that!
As you can see though, "Can't Let Go" by OPI is one of their textured glitter (Liquid Sand) polishes, and this one is a beautiful dark lilac shade. I guess you could argue that it's leaning towards the violet end of the purples! It's from their Mariah Carey collection way back in Spring 2013 but definitely not outdated :)

With the flash on, you can see more of what I see on my nails right now, and that is texture and glitter! There's also a slight blue tinge to the polish which comes through every now and again, though is honestly more visible in the bottle.

There are some larger hexagonal pieces of glitter in the polish alongside the typical micro 'sand' glitter pieces and together they truly make a beautiful nail look. The colour is also perfect for Spring!

However, I am generally a huuuuge fan of OPI's liquid sand polishes and for me you just can't go wrong with them. They just always seem to last wonderfully on my nails and I love the effect and subtle, yet in-your-face, sparkles you get from them. If only it was sunny!
But, if you aren't a fan of textured looks or glitter, this polish won't be for you.

In conclusion then... This is a polish that I just Can't Let Go of ;)

What are your thoughts on OPI's liquid sands?

Swatch Watch: OPI 'Sprung'

Wooo time got away from me for a couple of weeks. Has it really been so long already? My apologies to any of you who have been eagerly waiting for new swatches (I know I have)! To make it up to you I've got a swatch for you today which, in my opinion, is pretty "in season" right now. I'm talking about the Rose Gold trend that's been going on for a year or two now - who would of known it would become so popular?

Today's nail polish is: OPI 'Sprung'. It sounds like it should be a spring green kinda colour... but nope! This polish is a beautiful rose-gold kind of colour with a perfect amount of shimmer to be classy and sophisticated. Don't believe me? Here it is!

Fact File:
Brand: OPI
Polish Name: Sprung
# of coats: 3 + (applies quite thin)
Finishing Texture: Smooth, shimmer
Cost: £3.10 at the time of writing, on

So I paired this polish with this gel-finish dotty topcoat... thing. That sadly, has no name, and was bought by my roommate…

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …
