Nail School!

Hey everyone!

So over the past week or so I've been doing some training at The Beauty Academy in Manchester, to complete an NVQ Level 2 in Nail Services. So far I've learnt how to do a Manicure, Luxury Manicure, Pedicure, Luxury Pedicure, apply Gel Extensions and apply Acrylics. The hardest part was definitely the acrylics, but it was all a pretty fun and interesting process- I feel like I've learnt a lot, and I still have loads to learn.

I'm gonna be a bit busy (and a bit all over the place) over the next few weeks as Summer draws to a close and I get down to business with the written work I have to do for the NVQ, but I'm going to try to post regularly, and of course do my own nails too. Can't be walking around with bare nails now can I!?

Today I'm organising my polish collection... again. With colour wheels this time, so this should be pretty fun, and I'll update you on that at some point soon! I also still have an item to review for Lady Queen Beauty (I haven't forgotten, just been busy!), but you can check out the previous one here.

And with that I hope you've had a good few weeks, and I will catch you very very soon. If you're keeping up to date on social media you should be keeping up to date with posts quite nicely, and getting some extra goodies in between!

See you very soon! Byeeee!

Swatch Watch: OPI 'Sprung'

Greetings!

Wooo time got away from me for a couple of weeks. Has it really been so long already? My apologies to any of you who have been eagerly waiting for new swatches (I know I have)! To make it up to you I've got a swatch for you today which, in my opinion, is pretty "in season" right now. I'm talking about the Rose Gold trend that's been going on for a year or two now - who would of known it would become so popular?

Today's nail polish is: OPI 'Sprung'. It sounds like it should be a spring green kinda colour... but nope! This polish is a beautiful rose-gold kind of colour with a perfect amount of shimmer to be classy and sophisticated. Don't believe me? Here it is!

Fact File:
Brand: OPI
Polish Name: Sprung
# of coats: 3 + (applies quite thin)
Finishing Texture: Smooth, shimmer
Cost: £3.10 at the time of writing, on tnbl.co.uk

So I paired this polish with this gel-finish dotty topcoat... thing. That sadly, has no name, and was bought by my roommate…

Avril "Mille et une nuits" #32*

*This post contains an item sent to me in exchange for an honest review. Here it is a nail polish by Avril, called "Mille et une nuits" - No32.

Hello folks!

How are you all doing? How am I doing? Where am I? Who am I? So many questions...

To answer a few... I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, I am fine thank you.
I am in England, once again. For a long while this time.
I am Rachel, as always. And I have been missing from the blogging world for a couple of months.

The past 2 weeks I have spent job-searching (with success, yay!), catching up on Suits, and binge-watching Scandal. I want you all to go and do some homework and watch Scandal so I have somebody to talk to about it. Seriously.

Anyway, a few months ago I was lucky enough to be contacted by Avril - a french beauty brand which pride themselves on not testing on animals, and ensuring any of the ingredients used are also not tested on our furry friends. I highly respect this, and think that all companies should follow their …
